This is Cuba.

Study abroad trip, to photograph and learn about the mystery of Cuba.

Going to Cuba we were told to be careful of what we said or how we said it, because we were unaware of how Cubans would perceive us. People are different, regardless of where you go, we all have our similarities but understanding our differences is what makes us stronger to work together, and it’s what makes us grow.

I have never met people who were so open and welcoming to me than the people that I met in Cuba.

“Welcome to my country,” was a quote often heard from people on the streets, or a simple greeting from those who allowed us to enter their lives through conversation. This is the most I’ve learned in such a short amount of time. I am ignorant about the world around me, but after studying abroad in Cuba, it has opened me up to learn more about the world that I live in. Coming home, everyone has been asking about the cars or “how scary it must have been” but I was overwhelmed with joy, thrilled with the opportunity that I had, and I will never forget the people I met. the only danger in visiting Cuba, is that you may not want to leave.
